First State Flash – February 16, 2026
State Conference Preparation in Full Swing
The latest edition of the SkillsUSA Delaware First State Flash is now available!
As we move closer to the 2026 Delaware State Leadership & Skills Conference (March 2 and March 9–13), this issue outlines critical next steps for advisors and competitors, including:
🔹 Online Testing Window (Estimated Feb. 18 – March 6)
All competitors and alternates must complete required Online Content Knowledge Tests and the SkillsUSA Professional Development Test. Advisors will also submit their chapter’s testing dates so national support can be on standby.
🔹 Resume Upload Requirement
All competitors and alternates must upload a one-page professional resume by March 6.
Failure to upload a resume results in a 10-point penalty.
🔹 Professional Development Test Details
The PD Test is required for all competitors and alternates and is worth 25 points of a competitor’s overall score (and used as a tiebreaker).
🔹 Chapter Excellence Program Deadline – February 20
Chapters must complete and submit CEP through the SkillsUSA registration portal.
🔹 National Updates
This issue also includes:
SkillsUSA College/Postsecondary Scholarship opportunities
Travel grants for the Immersive Experience: Construction at NLSC
Outstanding CTE Educator Award nominations
Honorary Life Membership nominations
Hershey Heartwarming Young Heroes Grants
These opportunities extend beyond state competition and continue to help our members Champion Their Future.
